Cycling Race Sports Photography
Last weekend (19-6-22), yes on Father’s Day, I attended the National B Cycling Road Race in Somerton, Somerset. With a main interest in sports photography and in particular cycling, having a road race just down the road is a must to attend. With fuel prices the way they are, it is getting harder and harder to travel, especially for unpaid work, which is so frustrating because I’d love to attend more and more events.
At the event I had two goals: (1) capture some similar shots to last year, but also find some new spots too (2) create and film a POV (Point of View) YouTube video (link below). It seemed like a great idea at the time, but for someone who predominantly likes to take portrait photographs, by having a GoPro attached to the camera to film landscape, it left me no choice but to photograph landscape too. A nice challenge. What also felt like a good idea by both filming and photographing was that I’d be able to do it all easily… it certainly was not that! However I feel like I got some lovely photos and somehow the YouTube video is going down really well. If you’d like to see the video from this day you can find it here: YouTube POV video.
One day I’d love for my YouTube video to be monetised, to be able to add another passive income stream to my business. By subscribing to the channel and constantly engaging with the content I push out goes a long way to making that goal a reality. If you do manage to click the link above, please do hit that subscribe button, I can not thank you enough.
Anyway, shameless plug over, here is a selection of some images from the weekend.
